The Dramatics Society has been very active since its inception five years ago. Theatre workshops under the guidance of qualified theatre professionals from the National School of Drama, Delhi are conducted and an annual production is presented in the third term.
In 2006, a Hindi translation of Historia de una escalera (Story of a Staircase / Seediyon Par), a play written in 1949 by Spanish playwright Antonio Buero Vallejo, was performed. In 2007, the students of Portuguese performed a Hindi adaptation of Conto da ilha desconhecida (The Story of an Unknown Island / Ek Anjaan Dweep ki Kahani), a story by the Portuguese writer José Saramago who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998. |
