Each year two students of the University of Delhi are offered scholarships to participate in the International Summer School of German Language and Culture at the University of Heidelberg. This is part of the existing cooperation agreement between the two universities. Scholarship details »


Freie Universität Berlin, Germany

Germanistische Institutspartnerschaft
The Institut für Deutsche und Niederländische Philologie, Freie Universität Berlin), the Centre of German Studies, Jawarhalal Nehru University and the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies (University of Delhi) have entered into an institutional German Studies partnership, a program funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It supports exchange of students and faculty, collaborative research projects, and workshops on areas of common interest.

A New Passage to India
The Department of Germanic and Romance Studies has also been selected by the DAAD for an exchange project with Prof. Ursula Kocher, Freie Universität Berlin within the initiative "A New Passage to India" for the period 2009 to 2011. The project on "Translation and Cultural Exchange" envisages collaborative translation by Indian and German students and research scholars with opportunities to meet during visits in Berlin and in Delhi. The first text being translated is Aadha Gaon by Rahi Masoom Raza.
